thoughts on grief: Save the date

Concept cover art designs for thoughts on grief.
Hi all,
Thanks so much for reading my newsletters. Some of you have even given positive feedback, which is encouraging. Many thanks for taking the time to read my newsletter.
Having said that, after prayer and consultation, I have decided to make my book launch 28 August 2026. It’s a little over three months away, but I am taking into consideration that press often ask for a minimum of three months to do reviews in the lead-up to a book launch. Several advance reading copies have already been shared with the press. So, you may see me at different engagement events and on podcasts in the coming months.
The book cover design is well underway, and I am excited to share it with you once it is available. With this novelette, it’s tempting to want to cram everything in, but I also appreciate the importance of breathing room. As I write, other memories pop up and I am tempted to include them.
My novelette is called thoughts on grief. It is roughly 16,000 words, so it is considered a novelette, whereas a novel is, I believe is 75K words or longer. Through brief essays and short prose, I discuss how I was affected by Prince’s death. I also share anecdotes that highlight the bond Prince and I shared. He was hilarious, with a dark sense of humour, frank, but also deeply caring and loyal to those he loved.
Consider this a foray into my books. I am open to writing a children’s book in the future, but my first book feels a bit like an EP — a shorter body of work that introduces what is to come. Maybe one day I’ll write a novel.
Make sure to buy a copy when it’s out, leave a review on Amazon, and encourage others to subscribe to the newsletter.
Many thanks for following and reading,
Princess
